Various Cards Sent out by the Health Dept
This card is sent out to homeowners
with an Aerobic Septic System to remind them that the current yearly Maintenance Contract on the system will soon expire.
Everyone with an Aerobic System MUST keep an active Maintenance Contract for public health and environmental safety
This card is
sent out to homeowners who have allowed their Maintenance Contract to expire. When a contract is expired, the Health Department
sends this card warning that if you do not update your contract SOON, you will go to court and possibly pay a fine. When you
receive this card, call to get a new contract and most likely this matter will be dismissed.
This card has been sent out to all homeowners in Brazos County
with an Aerobic System. The Health Inspectors will be reading inspection reports sent to their office. They have the authority
to randomly perform inspections on any system at any time. Most of these inspections will be when inspection reports for homeowners
repeatedly show problems that are not being repaired. We have also been told that there will be random checks on systems
that have continously been reported with absolutely no problems. Through time, system components will age and show wear.
No system will always test perfectly for everything, components will go out and need to be replaced. Homeowners
will not be faulted for having problems with their system, but for not repairing issues with the system in a timely manner.
If you see problems on your inspection report, contact our office to schedule or inquire about repairs. Also, pool chlorine
is NOT appropriate for Aerobic Systems. You MUST use Septic Chlorine. During our inspections, we routinely add chlorine if
a system tests with a low chlorine residual to bring it back up to code.
